Black History Month

Fouché’s Hudson Funeral Home Celebrates Black History Every Day.

Fouché’s believes our history should be celebrated every day. We are so appreciative of the families we have served for over 107 years. You are part of our legacy.  It is a time for us to remember with gratitude the efforts of our ancestors who died during the middle passage, the freedom fighters that stood for what was and is right, our personal ancestors, loved ones and friends and to those who gave birth to us, nurtured us, taught us, and hugged us. Just stop for a moment and think about where you would be if it were not for the legacy of our Black history! Our Movement toward equality, inclusion, diversity, police reform, safety, health care, education, and jobs, to name a few issues, is not over! Black lives and all oppressed people do matter!

Have Black History Make Your Day!

In 2018, The Fouché Foundation Fund grant recipient was Tamara Shiloh, a local author, speaker, teacher, and entrepreneur. She is the owner of the Multicultural Book Store & Gifts. She writes the Black History column for the Oakland Post and has provided Black History moments on radio for several years.

Visiting her store is a must. It offers an opportunity to surround yourself with our Black History and is Multi-Cultural, too!. It takes you on a historical journey of our legacy. If you don’t see the book you want, she can get it for you. She offers children the chance to meet book authors and to also speak their own spoken words. She is dedicated to the importance of teaching Black History all year long! Enroll in the Black History Professional Development Class. Click below for more information.

Sincerely, Aloysia Fouché, Owner & CEO of Fouché’s Hudson Funeral Home
